Description
Fast-paced, professional, multi-association management firm seeks an Event & Continuing Medical Education Manager. Qualifications must include 3-5 years of experience in association event management.
Applicants must be motivated self-starters who can manage all aspects of a variety of seminars, conferences, and programs for State and National audiences.
Duties will include site selection and venue sourcing, hotel contract negotiation and management, budget development and expense tracking, planning and production timelines, exhibit and sponsor management, speaker logistics and hospitality, registrations, scheduling, on-site management, post-event evaluation, reporting and reconciliation. Liaise with internal and external educational and professional organizations to explore new continuing education initiatives. Coordinate Continuing Education (CE) application and approval processes for outside entities. Work with internal and external stakeholders to meet each client's goals and objectives. Ensure exceptional attendee and client experience throughout all stages of event planning and execution.
- High proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams). Some experience with Canva content design is a plus.
- Proficiency in event management software, virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom), and LMS or CE tracking systems.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds.
- Ability to travel alone by air and automobile.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Customer service oriented.
- Ability to work well with co-workers, members, contractors, and event attendees.
- Ability to address and resolve complaints.
- Ability to show and maintain a positive attitude with respect to customers and potential customers.
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Position requires the ability to work weekends and evenings.
