- Director of Strategy and Business Planning, Data Center Optical Connectivity & Photonics
Description
We need a high energy, high output team player to join our market assessment group. The candidate will become responsible for producing research and driving the practice on sectors of the Data Center Optical Connectivity & Photonics market. This practice includes a dynamic and high-growth sector: enabling network infrastructure for AI workloads. The candidate would work closely with our other Data Center analysts, and our seasoned sales and marketing team. In this role, the candidate actively participates in the success of the practice, and the associated financial rewards. The role offers extensive exposure to industry participants worldwide, such as the software and hardware manufacturers – market leaders and startups, Wall Street Financial Analysts, semiconductor and supply chain, distribution channels, and telecom operators and cloud data center service providers.
The responsibilities of this position include:
- Business Forecasting & Planning
- Build and maintain market forecast models
- Conduct competitive strategy analyses of key market players
- Prepare market assessment reports – spanning the past, present, and future
- Analyze vendor financial and product announcements
- Communicate findings with vendor and investment banking clients
- Conduct meetings with clients and industry participants
- Product / Technology Analysis
- Develop market segmentation models and forecasts reflecting market evolution
- Understand new and current products, product features, and competitive positioning strategies
- Conduct research via the Internet and other sources to obtain product information
- Grow your reputation of being a thought-leader in the industry
- Write blogs on hot topics, publish articles in industry press
- Develop relationships with industry and business press
- Present at industry and investor conferences
- Communicate complex topics in a clear, concise manner
- Secure and perform custom work such as white papers and webinars
Requirements
The qualifications for this position include:
- Minimum of ten years’ experience at a manufacturer (e.g., Broadcom, Coherent, Intel, Lumentum, Marvell, etc.)
- MBA and undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Science
- Extensive experience with MS Excel, including pivot tables and power query
- Ability to rapidly summarize and communicate ideas and concepts
- Demonstrable ability to quickly take responsibility for meeting delivery targets and schedules
