The Keck School of Medicine of USC is accepting applications for a one-year, ACGME-accredited Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship, with a start date of July 1, 2026.
This fellowship provides comprehensive training in the inpatient and outpatient management of patients across the full spectrum of heart failure—from initial diagnosis through advanced therapies, including high-risk cardiac surgery, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support (MCS), optimal medical therapy, and end-of-life care.
Clinical training includes:
Inpatient and outpatient heart failure management Pre- and post–heart transplant evaluation and care Mechanical circulatory support, including ventricular assist device (VAD) patient selection, perioperative management, and longitudinal outpatient care Adult congenital heart disease evaluation Pulmonary hypertension evaluation and management Cardiopulmonary exercise testing RV Endomyocardial biopsy CardioMEMS implantation Cardiac device management (CRT/ICD) The fellow will be an integral member of our high-volume Heart Failure and Mechanical Circulatory Support Services and will work closely with a multidisciplinary team across all phases of advanced heart failure care.
Opportunities for scholarly activity are available and may include translational research, clinical outcomes research, and participation in pharmaceutical and device-based clinical trials.
