Position Summary: The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for fostering community engagement and supporting organizational growth by cultivating meaningful volunteer relationships and promoting a positive volunteer experience across multiple locations.

Work onsite at all three locations in person (Lincoln shelter, Maryville office, thrift store).
Oversee 500+ active volunteers.
Weekly and monthly newsletters to volunteers.
24-hour response time to all volunteer inquiries and applications.
Pursuing new volunteers through different platforms.
Work off-site community outreach events to find new volunteers.
Oversee and manage the foster volunteer program alongside the Animal Care Team.
Coordinate all volunteer appreciation events and programs across multiple departments and programs.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Write simple correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.
Mathematical Ability:
Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply/divide with 10's and 100's. Perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: Ability to work with multiple different software platforms, including but not limited to Google Docs, Excel, Sharepoint, Dropbox, shelter management software platforms, and event planning platforms.
Certificates and Licenses: A certificate relating to animal welfare or volunteer coordinating is preferred, but not required, to apply for this position.
