The Manager of CDI Operations is responsible for managing the daily operations of the CDI team and reviewing inpatient records to obtain complete and accurate documentation. In this role you will ensure that an efficient and compliant workflow is in place and followed.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Manage the performance of the CDI department through ongoing evaluation and metric review/analysis.
Actively seek ways to improve performance and maximize the department's contribution to the organization.
Partner with the CDI Director on departmental strategy, growth, and development.
Manages the performance of CDI coworkers through ongoing coaching, feedback, and development to motivate, engage, and drive a high-performing team.
Provide oversight and direction to the Clinical Documentation program in compliance with the Association of Clinical Documentation Specialists' Code of Ethics and AHIMA Guidelines for Achieving a Complaint Query practice brief. Works closely with Physician CDSs, QA Analysts, CDI Director, and individual staff to identify and implement program enhancements and to maximize effectiveness.
Analyze reports to identify documentation, query, and education trends. Provide feedback to leadership and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Nursing - Required - OR-
Medical Doctor (MD), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) - Required
3 - 5 years Acute Care Nursing or Clinical experience - Required
5 years Progressive CDI experience - Required
2 years supervisory or management role or leadership overseeing CDI functions or clinical teams - Preferred
3 years EPIC/EHR - Required
Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) - Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS) within 180 - days - Required
Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensing Board - Preferred
