Requirements
Qualifications
Required for the Job (Non-Negotiable):
California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) Certification: This is the most important one. While California doesn't have a state-wide license, the CAMTC provides voluntary certification. A therapist with this certification has met the state-mandated requirements, which include a minimum of 500 hours of training from an approved school and a background check. This shows they're legit and serious about their craft.
Professional Liability Insurance: This protects both the therapist and your business. It's a non-negotiable requirement that proves they are responsible and have coverage for any potential professional issues.
Essential Skills & Qualities We are Looking For:
Proficiency in Relaxing Swedish: They need to be a master of these modalities. Your clinic specializes in wellness and recovery, so they must be able to perform these core services at a high level.
Excellent Communication: A therapist who can communicate clearly and compassionately is key to building trust with clients. They need to be able to talk about treatment plans, listen to patient needs, and make them feel comfortable.
Reliability & Professionalism: They must be a pro, not just in their skills but in their work ethic. Punctuality, a clean appearance, and a positive attitude towards both clients and team members are essential.
Physical Stamina: The work is hands-on, so they need the physical endurance to perform multiple high-quality sessions during their shift.
