We are currently looking for a Segment Project Manager who is ready to engage in a large alternative delivery (CMGC) project in Los Angeles County. This project is a multi-year project that will widen the 105 freeway from the 405 to the 605. This widening will increase HOV capacity, reduce congestion along the corridor and introduce tolling to the 105. Phase one of the project is starting at $400 Million, and the remaining phases will push the project towards $1.1 Billion. This is a great opportunity to join the team as we are building the first phase and prior to the project breaking ground on the second phase and contribute to the success of this critical project to improve mobility ahead of the 2028 Olympics.

The ideal candidate is capable of thinking outside the box, understands multi-staged construction projects, is detailed oriented with experience in heavy civil construction. The position is directly accountable for the safety, financial performance, and team development on site.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

1. Manages all aspects of the project, including construction, budget and cash management for a single assigned project to ensure compliance with the project contract and owner needs.
2. Develops and manages the project schedule, pay estimates, project procedures, and equipment resources needed to complete accurate and timely project production.
3. Develops and manages the project organizational chart and staffing assignments for each phase of production, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of project objectives.
4. Provides technical insight to project pursuits and participates in bid interviews, as necessary. Assesses the initial project contract and works with owner to resolve specification, contract conflict and scheduling issues.
5. Engages with all project stakeholders proactively, including managing partners, local landowners, business owners and regulatory bodies that will have influence over project success.
6. Coordinates with construction management team to identify project risk and negotiate change orders with owner to ensure efficient and effective project production.
7. Supports and promotes project safety by ensuring compliance with the project safety program, company safety procedures and owner safety policies. Reviews weekly safety reports and participates in monthly safety review meetings with project personnel.
8. Reviews and approves staffing and equipment needs for efficient and effective project production.
9. Negotiates dispute resolutions with the project owner, engaging internal legal counsel where necessary.
10. Provides input on equipment procurement methods and contracts to ensure efficient and effective project production.
11. Leads project closeout procedures, finalizing contract paperwork, obtaining retainages and working with management to resolve any project claims. Leads project debrief cycle to review all aspects of project work and completion.
12. Maintains knowledge of Company values and strategic plan.
13. Perform additional assignments per management's direction

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering preferred
2. 10+ Years of Experience in highly complex and related highway or structures construction projects in California.
3. Experienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and self-perform work
4. Experience leading a successful project team, including development of employees and maintaining relationships with external entities
5. Excellent organizational, team management, problem solving, motivational skills
