Description
We are looking for a public health practitioner, preferably with experience in STLT surveillance, to join our dynamic, fully remote team and facilitate change across the public health ecosystem. Our work spans public health domains with specializations in data modernization, surveillance (syndromic, overdose, and chronic), informatics, and preparedness. We leverage our experiences and creativity to offer formative facilitation, strategic planning and implementation, and public health practice support.
A little bit about what you will do:
Associates coordinate projects to ensure that we deliver exceptional analyses, guidance, and technical assistance to our clients. You inspire confidence with meticulous attention to detail and application of organizational skills. You will apply your public health knowledge to document priorities, track project activities, organize project materials, and draft project outputs. You will also contribute to the development of proposals and internal quality improvement projects. As employees who interact with and serve clients daily, you embody Kahuina’s core values and emphasize quality, dedication, and service. Associates report to company leadership (Managers, Directors, Principals).

Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
- Document and curate Kahuina work products; e.g., notes, data, reports, etc.
- Apply public health subject-matter knowledge to triage technical assistance requests and questions related to Kahuina project portfolios, such as overdose surveillance and public health data exchange.
- Track project schedules, tasks, and deliverables.
- Clearly communicate tasks and expectations with clients and partners to coordinate event engagement, participation, and follow-up; e.g., meetings, peer-to-peer learning, or workshops.
- Provide logistical support to project teams for partner meetings, national webinars, in-person workshops, and other facilitated engagements.
- Collaborate within project teams to elevate team performance and the quality of project deliverables.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and self-manage time and resources to ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to project schedules consistent with Kahuina’s standards and exceeding client expectations.
- Facilitate trust and respect among clients and project stakeholders.
- Apply lessons learned for continuous growth and professional development.
- Follow company policies and practices to ensure accurate client billing and invoicing, support team and project management, inform project design and level-of-effort estimates, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
A master's degree and 2+ years of public health experience or equivalent demonstration of mastery in the business’s core service area.
Other
- Self-reliant and able to work both independently and in a team.
- Familiarity with at least one part/are of our portfolio.
- Excellent communicator.
- Ability to travel for work, subject to approval and availability.
- Availability during Eastern Standard Time Zone (UTC-4) work hours.
- Continuous access to reliable high-speed internet service from residence or location(s) where work will be conducted.
- Preference for previous experience working for a governmental public health agency.
