Description
The position of program manager for the SER-MWGL chapter is an administrative role. This person will support our all-volunteer board in executing its mission to support the theory and practice of doing restoration ecology across the Midwest/Great Lakes states.
This position is approximately 25% time, around 10 hours per week. This may vary across the year depending upon Chapter activities. The person will be hired as a contractor at a rate of around $28.00 to $32.00 per hour. Hours can be very flexible.
Our main activity is an annual meeting held in a Chapter State each year. Beyond this we support state activities and Student Associations of the Society of Ecological Restoration.
We are also seeking to build our capacity to carry out our mission. We would like someone with an ability to identify and write grants.
This work is 100% remote—out board members live across the seven states of the Midwest region. There would be travel to our annual meeting (July 12th-July 16th, 2026 in Milwaukee WI) and perhaps some regional travel to support regional events.
Some experience in the fields of ecology and/or biology is helpful but not essential Experience working with not for profit boards is also a plus.
