Our experienced staff of doctors, technologists and support personnel are committed to providing the most accurate, safe, timely and caring medical imaging (such as MRI, CT, mammography and x-ray) and interventional radiology services (minimally invasive treatment for diseases and other health conditions like chronic pain).
Locations with Position Openings: Encinitas with some shifts at the Hillcrest location
Position Status Options: Full Time
Work week: Four (4) 10-hour work days a week
Salary: $60 to $70 an hour based off experience
Summary: The PET/CT Technologist will be responsible to review patient orders, image per protocol, and post-process while following Single Flow protocols emulate LEAN principles. This will be accomplished by assisting daily operations as needed with a focus on IHS’s standard for excellent patient care.
Essential Responsibilities will include the following, and other duties may be assigned.
Follow ALARA principles of safe handling, receiving and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
Strong IV Skills
Ability to follow written instructions, protocols and standard work.
Obtains patients' histories from electronic records, patient interviews, dictated reports, or by communicating with referring clinicians.
Reviews patient orders image requests, patient questions and perform image procedures while upholding IHS patient service quality standards.
Reviews or transmits images and information using picture archiving or communications systems.
Evaluates medical information to determine patients' risk factors, such as allergies to contrast agents, or to make decisions regarding the appropriateness of procedures.
Confers with medical professionals regarding image-based diagnoses.
Provides suggestions to management for any coaching and performance coaching while observing technicians.
Assists Modality Manager enforce standards for protection of patients or personnel.
Monitors and assists with procedures to ensure adequate quality control of images. Interpret images using computer-aided detection or diagnosis systems.
Prepares and responds to correspondence for unread exams, QA Notes, shift reports, incident reports and inquiry statuses
Reports any non-operable equipment and maintenance needs of imaging equipment to your supervisor.
Contributes to company goals by acting as a backup for other IHS departments as required.
Helps facilitate maintenance needs of imaging equipment and prepare reports to Modality Manager for review and approval.
Qualifications
Education: Required: CNMT or ARRT equivalent, Nuclear Medicine California State License, BLS
Experience: Minimum: 0 to 1 year. New Grads Welcome!
