FaithSearch Partners is pleased to share an exceptional executive leadership opportunity at Simpson University, California’s only Christian university located north of Sacramento. This growing university is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a key member of the President’s executive leadership team.

Simpson University is a Christ-centered institution with more than a century-long legacy of developing graduates who influence the world through faith, learning, and service. Today, the university serves more than 1,000 students across undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. Distinct from many peer institutions, Simpson is experiencing sustained institutional momentum, marked by the expansion of academic programs and facilities and an average annual enrollment growth of approximately 5% over each of the past six years.

The Chief Financial Officer will serve in a senior executive capacity, reporting directly to the President and playing a central role in advancing the university’s mission, strengthening financial stewardship, and supporting long-term strategic growth. This leader will provide vision and oversight for all financial operations, ensuring fiscal integrity, sustainability, and alignment with Simpson’s Christ-centered values.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be an accomplished finance and accounting executive, ideally holding a CPA and/or MBA, with a minimum of ten years of progressive leadership experience—preferably within higher education or the nonprofit sector. Equally essential is a deep, authentic Christian faith, with a demonstrated commitment to integrating faith into leadership, decision-making, and service. Simpson seeks a servant leader with strong business acumen, collaborative leadership style, and a heart for Christian higher education.
