Position Overview
The Education & Events Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and delivery of CAALA’s educational programming and conferences. This role owns the quality, structure, and execution of CAALA’s CLE seminars, webinars, workshops, and conferences—both in-person and virtual—and ensures these programs reflect CAALA’s mission and professional standards.
The Education & Events Manager works closely with committees, speakers, leadership, and staff, and is supported by a Programs & Meetings Coordinator who handles day-to-day logistics and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Education & Program Leadership
- Lead the development of high-quality CLE programs for seminars, webinars, workshops, and conferences.
- Recruit, vet, and manage speakers; work with committees to shape strong, balanced panels.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of speakers aligned with CAALA’s values of advocacy, inclusion, integrity, professionalism, and civility.
- Ensure compliance with State Bar CLE requirements.
Event Oversight & Accountability
- Own the overall structure and flow of CAALA conferences and major programs, including agendas, session timing, and program design.
- Oversee event readiness and execution, ensuring deadlines are met and materials are accurate.
- Provide direction and priorities to the Programs & Meetings Coordinator to ensure logistics align with program goals.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with the Programs & Meetings Coordinator to ensure seamless execution of meetings and events.
- Collaborate with the Affiliate & Sponsorship Manager to ensure sponsorship deliverables align with program content.
- Work with Membership, Finance, and the Executive Director as needed on event strategy and priorities.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Review program evaluations and feedback; implement improvements for future offerings.
- Identify opportunities to expand and enhance CAALA’s educational offerings as member needs grow.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; JD or advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in legal education, CLE programming, or association conference planning.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Deep understanding of CLE compliance and speaker management.
- Ability to manage complex programs while collaborating across teams.
