Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Janitor / Cleaner to oversee janitorial operations at a high-end office complex in Pasadena, CA. This is a hands-on leadership role supervising cleaners and porters across two shifts. The Lead Janitor is responsible for ensuring all assigned areas — including offices, commercial spaces, labs, garages, and common areas — are maintained in a clean, orderly, and professional condition.

This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a corporate headquarters environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide hands-on support to janitorial staff across two shifts
• Ensure completion of daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restroom and breakroom sanitation, window cleaning, and trash removal
• Perform hardscape maintenance and ensure exterior areas remain clean and safe
• Provide training on cleaning chemicals, floor machines, pressure washers, and related equipment
• Monitor quality and complete punch-list tasks to client standards
• Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, staff, and client representatives
• Fill in during staff shortages and support shift leads
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies
• Use technology-based reporting systems and maintain accurate documentation
• Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times

Qualifications & Experience

• Prior high-end janitorial supervisory experience required
• Previous janitorial/cleaning experience required
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to supervise teams and maintain quality standards in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual preferred, but not required
• Ability to use cleaning equipment and technology-based reporting systems
• Safety-focused, dependable, and team-oriented

Physical Requirements

• Stand for extended periods; walk frequently (>66% of shift)
• Sit less than 10% of shift
• Push/pull, grasp, and lift up to 10 lbs frequently
• Reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
• Perform repetitive cleaning tasks daily
• Work under pressure and meet deadlines during peak periods
