About the Role
As a Remote Inpatient Coder, you’ll review and analyze facility inpatient medical records, assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes, and ensure correct DRG assignment all while maintaining compliance with official coding guidelines. You’ll collaborate with our clinical documentation and quality assurance teams to make sure every chart tells a clear, accurate story.
What You’ll Do
- Review and code inpatient encounters with accuracy and speed
 - Assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes and determine appropriate MS-DRGs/APR-DRGs
 - Ensure coding compliance and adherence to national standards
 - Query providers and CDI specialists as needed for documentation clarification
 - Stay current on coding updates, regulatory changes, and industry best practices

Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- AHIMA or AAPC certification (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P; or CPC, COC, or CIC)
 - Minimum 1 year of inpatient acute care coding experience
 - Solid knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS, and DRG methodology
 - Strong attention to detail and self-motivation in a remote work environment
 - Proficiency with EMR and encoder systems
