1K Women Strong The GA State Organizing Director serves as the primary point person to support the 1K Women Strong national agenda and will manage the advocacy and empowerment efforts in GA. The GA State Organizing Director will engage with identified GA state partner organizations and represent the organization to cultivate and build connections that support the mission and goals of 1K Women Strong. The GA State Organizing Director reports to the National Organizing Director and is responsible for various tasks focused on community organizing, cultivating community relationships, and building a GA statewide grassroots and grass tops network. The GA State Organizing Director is expected to model and uphold the vision, mission and core values of the organization.
Responsibilities include:
Managing and executing a GA state plan that includes the overall goals, strategy
and implementation as determined by the organization's leadership team.
Recruiting and managing regional leads as determined by the organization.
Identifying and cultivating relations with the community agencies and advocacy groups for increased visibility.
Serves as the lead in the development of target-specific strategies to engage advocacy groups, activists, and individuals in the local and GA state programs.
Coordinates a cohesive advocacy approach to all initiatives with GA state 1K Women Strong team members in order to synchronize organizing with other GA state organizations.
Participates in regular planning calls/meetings, and network on behalf of the organization.
Coordinates 1K Women Strong material development and ensures wide distribution to ensure all targets are touched.
Tracking progress and success of initiatives.
Developing and maintaining relationships with national and GA statewide organizations that support 1K Women Strong’s mission and goals.
Qualifications:
At least two cycles of field experience on issues or electoral campaigns, including at least one cycle managing grassroots staff.
Proven experience managing staff in various political, coalition or issues
based campaigns.
Familiarity and comfort with working with people who demonstrate an interest in building connections and community activists.
Familiarity with local, GA state and national outreach, political and issue advocacy campaigns or initiatives.
Ability to build connections and drive outcomes for the mutual benefit of the organization.
Strong leadership skills that inspire and motivate performance.
Strong interpersonal, oral communication and listening skills.
Positive attitude and ability to motivate staff members.
Ability to problem solve effectively and creatively.
Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a passion for
accuracy.
A self-starter and has the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
Must be flexible and adaptable to unexpected changes that may include performing additional tasks as deemed necessary by the leadership team.
Requirements:
Must be available to attend all team meetings, department meetings, and other designated meetings as determined by the scope of work.
Must possess a laptop computer and a cell phone
Must submit activity reports and other identified reports such as calendar of activities, statement of work, scope of work as determined by leadership and the project team on the designated time and date.
Experience and/or willingness to learn and submit items in Asana; or the project management tool used by the organization.
Keep an updated Google Calendar to include meetings and availability.
Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
Work Environment
This is a remote position that performs work in the target locations.
Must be willing to travel as determined by the organization to assigned GA locations.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Ability to build connections and drive outcomes for the mutual benefit of the organization.
Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Georgia State Organizing Director
1000 Women Strong
Location: Georgia (Remote, with in-state travel)
Reports to: National Organizing Director
Salary: Commensurate with experience, but ranges from $4,000-$5,000/mo

About the Role
The Georgia State Organizing Director leads our organizing work across Georgia.
This role focuses on coordinating regional organizers, strengthening relationships with partners across the state, and making sure Georgia work stays aligned with national priorities while reflecting local needs.
This role is a good fit for someone who already knows Georgia’s organizing landscape and brings strong relationships, practical organizing experience, and a collaborative approach to leadership.
What You’ll Do
Lead and coordinate 1000 Women Strong’s organizing work across Georgia
Supervise and support Regional Organizing Directors
Build and maintain relationships with Georgia-based organizations, advocates, and community leaders
Represent the organization in coalitions, meetings, and statewide gatherings
Help carry national organizing priorities into Georgia’s local context
Share updates and progress with the National Organizing Director
Who This Role Is For
