Description
The Director of FP&A reports to the Executive Director of Finance & Investor Relations and will be instrumental in building Arcutis's decision support capability to enable efficient operations and effective capital allocation across the enterprise. The Director of FP&A will act as the Finance lead for the Clinical Development and Technical Operations functions at Arcutis and also lead consolidation and corporate finance efforts.Roles & Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally to generate an annual budget and quarterly forecasts that ensure the Company's operational focus and internal investment support achievement of key corporate priorities in a capital-efficient mannerAnalyze financial results on a monthly and quarterly basis, in partnership with functional leadership and Accounting team, to provide actionable insights on Arcutis's ongoing businessDrive strategic planning as part of the annual long-range plan (LRP) exercise to enable investment decisions across portfolio of internal program and opportunities Contribute to the development of the Company's financial and corporate strategy Provide day-to-day Finance leadership and business partnership to the Clinical Development and Tech Ops functions including trade-off analysis to drive efficient use of Company resourcesLead all corporate finance initiatives including the design, implementation, and management of a cross-functional internal capital allocation process Drive all financial consolidation and corporate financial reporting processesOwn financial planning system including assumption and general system maintenance and evaluation for technology driven efficiencies for FP&A teamSupport the annual audit and quarterly reviews through preparation of audit schedules and other documentation as requested by external auditors Present analysis and strategic insights to the CFO and executive team to support effective financial decision makingDevelop and grow direct report through constructive input, effective feedback, and continuous coachingDirects and oversees the activities of one internal staff member and potentially external contractors.
Education & Licenses and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent work experience; MBA degree preferred
7+ years of experience in finance and/or accounting positions in a relevant industry

- Track record of collaboration, stakeholder relationship management, and influencing key decision-makersExperience with clinical trials and biopharmaceutical manufacturingWell-developed analytical skills that demonstrate the ability to drive from data to analysis to insightSelf-motivated with the strong work ethic and sense of urgency required for success in a rapidly growing biotech company and an equally critical ability to problem solve in high pressure situations Process-oriented thinker with experience in process design, implementation, and improvementStrong written and oral communication skills allowing for presentation of complex financial concepts in a digestible manner to stakeholders with varying degrees of financial experienceDemonstrated intellectual curiosity in the life sciences industryHighly skilled in use of financial information technology (e.g., ERP and financial planning systems)Solid working knowledge of GAAP to facilitate understanding of financial results and forward-looking forecastFamiliarity with the control and compliance requirements of a public company including knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)Travel may be required up to 10% of time worked
