Description
Under the direction and supervision of the Department Chair/Program Director, the Radiologic Technology Clinical Coordinator secures, develops and maintains clinical affiliations and oversees all clinical curricula. Responsibilities include clinical education, supervision, and evaluation of students assigned to the various clinical affiliates as defined by the community standards of practice. The Clinical Coordinator ensures that clinical instruction is effectively integrated with didactic coursework and is delivered in compliance with JRCERT Standards, California Title 17 regulations, and accepted professional and ethical standards of the radiologic sciences profession.
Requirements
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of clinical education to ensure alignment with program goals, student learning outcomes, and accreditation requirements.
- Correlate clinical education with didactic instruction to support student competency development and progressive learning.
- Ensure clinical education complies with JRCERT Standards, California Title 17, institutional policies, and professional practice standards.
- Recruit, develop, and maintain clinical education sites that enhance student learning and provide a broad range of clinical competencies.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of clinical education sites and clinical instructors through ongoing assessment, site visits, and feedback mechanisms.
- Participate in clinical and/or didactic instruction within the undergraduate Radiologic Technology program, as assigned.
- Evaluate student performance in the clinical setting, ensuring fair, consistent, and objective assessment of clinical competencies and professional behaviors.
- Participate in student advising, mentoring, and academic progression activities related to clinical education.
- Collaborate with the Program Director to support effective program operation, including scheduling, compliance, documentation, and continuous quality improvement.
- Assist in the periodic review, revision, and development of clinical course syllabi, objectives, and instructional materials in collaboration with program leadership.
- Participate in programmatic assessment activities, including data collection, analysis, and reporting for accreditation and institutional effectiveness.
- Maintain current knowledge of radiologic sciences, clinical practices, educational methodologies, and regulatory requirements through ongoing professional development.
- Maintain familiarity with program policies, procedures, student records, and progression requirements related to clinical education.
- Support faculty governance by participating in departmental, college, and university-wide committees as assigned.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and clinical partners to promote a professional learning environment that supports student success.
- Demonstrate flexibility in teaching and clinical coordination assignments, which may include off-campus clinical sites, evening, night, weekend, and non-traditional schedules to meet departmental and student needs.
