Classification/Compensation Analyst (COMPENSATION ANL 3)
Salary or Pay Range: $85,500.00 - $157,300.00/year (Department budgeted salary range: $85,500 - $100,000/yr. Commensurate with experience.)
UC Davis Compensation Services manages the university's wage and salary programs, including classification, salary determination, and market analysis, to ensure fair and competitive compensation for employees. The department provides services like creating salary structures, reviewing positions, and offering consultation to managers on compensation-related matters. They also administer specific programs, such as the annual compensation review program for policy-covered staff and guidelines for stipends, acting appointments, and other equity adjustments. We provide the university with a wide range of services that will enable managers to hire, recognize, retain and reward employee excellence.
THIS CONTRACT POSITION ENDS ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF HIRE.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity to compensation actions and processes.
- Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations.
- Written and verbal communication skills to convey findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
- Organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks employing broad skills, managing multiple priorities and produce results with varying deadlines.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Excel including writing formulas and using pivot tables, Word, Outlook, and Mail programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- World at Work Certified Compensation Professional and SHRM certification preferred.
- Experience in classification/job evaluation methodology background to evaluate and classify a wide variety of professions and occupational categories,
- Experience and knowledge and experience in designing, costing, and implementing variable pay and other compensation programs.
- Experience in consulting in compensation and organizational development in a complex setting.
- Strong technical compensation skills (database analysis).

- 25% - Consultant to Managers
- 10% - Compensation Analysis
- 10% - Special Projects

Compensation Services manages classification systems as well as the wage and salary programs through collaborating with managers and HR Business Partners. We provide the university with a wide range of services that will enable managers to hire, recognize, and reward employee excellence.
