Description

Lewis Brisbois is seeking a fulltime Business Development Manager to support and advance the firm’s litigation practices. This role will work closely with practice leaders and key stakeholders to develop and execute strategic marketing and business development initiatives that strengthen the firm’s market positioning and drive growth. The Business Development Manager will have primary responsibility for several litigation practices, with an emphasis on Complex Business & Commercial Litigation and the promotion of the firm’s National Trial Team.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with practice leaders to design and execute strategic business development initiatives.
• Support partners in achieving their personal business development goals by developing strategic and actionable plans and driving execution.
• Proactively identify and pursue new business development opportunities, coordinate attorney teams, lead pitch efforts, and manage opportunities from concept to submission.
• Lead the development of pitches, proposals, RFP responses, and presentations.
• Manage submissions to rankings and awards directories and publications.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of marketing materials including brochures, website content, and custom pieces to support business development efforts.
• Participate in practice group meetings and assist with agenda development and follow-up, as needed.
• Oversee the maintenance of various experience databases and practice group rosters.
• Conduct client, prospect, and market research, monitoring industry trends and competitive intelligence to help position the firm to win new business.
• Support the successful integration of lateral hires into the firm.
• Coordinate with the Communications team to identify and execute thought leadership, media, and PR opportunities.
• Coordinate with the Events and Virtual Programs teams to support webinars, conferences, and client-focused events.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in a similar role in a law firm or professional services firm required.
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with attorneys.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing attention to detail.
• Creative researching skills, meticulous writing, proofreading and data entry skills, and capacity to interpret data.
• Technological proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office programs, including Copilot; InDesign skills a plus.
• Grace under pressure and ability to work with tight deadlines.
• Positive, proactive, and professional demeanor.
• Understanding of U.S. litigation terminology and framework.
• This is a hybrid in-office/remote working role requiring three in-office days per week.
