Description
The Department of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Chapman University School of Pharmacy (CUSP), the first ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy in Orange County, California, seeks an excellent candidate to contribute to the research and teaching missions of the School of Pharmacy. The anticipated start date is June 2026.
This is a full-time, calendar-year, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The faculty of the department teach various areas of biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences to PharmD and graduate (MS and PhD) students and are actively engaged in impactful, extramurally-supported research. We are interested in candidates who have already developed or have demonstrated the potential for developing a strong extramurally funded research program in areas complementary to those of the current faculty, including cardiovascular/renal pharmacology, pulmonology, oncology, neuroscience, inflammatory diseases, or a related field. Candidates with expertise and experience in teaching in pathophysiology and pharmacology are especially encouraged to apply.

Requirements
Responsibilities
- Establish (Assistant rank) or maintain (Associate rank) a strong, extramurally-funded research program.
- Mentor graduate, PharmD, and undergraduate students in their research.
- Teach in an accelerated, year-round PharmD program and/or in MS/PhD graduate programs.
- Participate in the service activities of the Department, School, and University.
Qualifications
Required:
- PhD in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related disciplines from an accredited institution.
- At least two years of post-doctoral experience.
- A strong record of peer-reviewed research publications.
- Evidence of grantsmanship, such as grant writing training and/or drafts of research proposals (for the rank of Assistant Professor)
- Active transferrable research funding (for the rank of Associate Professor only)
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Evidence of successful mentorship of undergraduate, professional, or graduate students
- Teaching experience in pathophysiology and pharmacology in a US university

Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The salary range for this position is $150K - $190K and will be commensurate with qualifications and rank. Chapman University offers a relocation expense reimbursement package. Successful completion of a background check is required for the final candidate. This position is contingent upon final budget approval.
